The Bijrani Zone is one of the most popular tourism areas inside the famous Corbett Tiger Reserve. Rich in wildlife, scenic landscapes, and natural beauty, this zone is highly sought after by visitors who wish to enjoy a thrilling Jeep Safari in Jim Corbett. Entry to this zone is through the Aamdanda Gate, located near Ramnagar.
Accommodation inside Bijrani Zone
Bijrani Zone has two major forest rest houses: Bijrani FRH and Malani FRH. These rest houses provide a rustic yet comfortable stay inside the forest, where visitors can experience nature at its purest.
- Bijrani Forest Rest House (FRH) – Offers six rooms (four double-bed, two single-bed) and a four-bed dormitory. The campus has its own restaurant and canteen. Elephant rides were traditionally organized from here, and the area is frequented by wild animals and birds.
- Malani Forest Rest House (FRH) – Located about 12 km from Bijrani, it has two double-bed rooms. It is a peaceful retreat, especially loved by birdwatchers and nature lovers.
Safari in Bijrani
The Bijrani Safari Zone is well known for its rich variety of flora and fauna. Easily accessible from Ramnagar, it is the preferred choice for many wildlife enthusiasts. Morning and evening Jeep safaris provide an opportunity to witness tigers, elephants, deer, and a wide variety of birds amidst breathtaking landscapes.

The Malani Forest Rest House, built in the 1930s, is located at the edge of the core zone. Surrounded by grasslands and forests, it provides visitors with a unique opportunity to experience true jungle life. It is considered one of the best places for birdwatching and a peaceful stay inside Jim Corbett National Park.

Flora & Fauna
Bijrani’s vegetation is dominated by Sal forests and open grasslands, creating a diverse habitat for wildlife. Commonly sighted animals include chital, sambar, hog deer, barking deer, elephants, and tigers. Birdwatchers can spot numerous species, while reptiles like python, cobra, krait, king cobra, and lizards also inhabit the zone. Sloth bears, drawn to Mahua flowers, are often seen wandering the area.

How to Reach Bijrani
The entry point for Bijrani is the Aamdanda Gate, located about 2 km from Ramnagar. After crossing a 5 km buffer zone, visitors enter the core safari zone.
